King of the Ring in Byram, Mississippi was another action packed MMA event. Here are how things went down and yes we do have a new MidSouth MMA Welterweight champion.

TONY “BABALU” GOLDBOLD VS PATRICK JONES

Babalu and Patrick Jones came out swinging. Best fight in MS in a long time is the word on the street amongst fighters and fans alike. Three rounds of nonstop stand up action. Patrick Jones pulled it out with a split decision and is now the MidSouth MMA Welterweight Champion!

DUSTIN CLAY VS PHILLIP DOBBENS

These guys played it smart and came out weary of each others power.. Phillip slammed Dustin and hammered fits him into TKO in the first round. Phillip also TKO’ed the ring, way to go Phillip.

JOHNATHAN SPEED VS JASON GROSSIE

Jonathan Speed came out in what looked like nothing but underwear and a cup. The laughs didn't last long as the 170 pounder from Team Waspnest came out swarming Jason into submission in the 1st first round.

SAM YARBROUGH VS SCOTT STEWART

Sam looked like a new fighter not having to cut 13 pounds really made a difference in this one. Sam took the win in round 1 with a quick submission.

JUAN ZAPATTA VS COREY HOLDER

None stop action up and down, fist, knees, elbows, submission attempts what a technical fight.. Corey got a bad cut under the eye and the doctor stopped the fight. Winner by TKO Juan Zapatta.

MAURICE PROCTOR VS TREY BROWN

They came out throwing hands and went to the ground. Maurice caught Trey in what looked like an arm breaking arm bar but Trey rolled out and pounded Maurice into TKO.

Kelly Bleo vs Chris Tausher

Chirs threw his shoulder out and could not fight. Kelly won by ref stoppage due to Chris not able to continue.

Our tough man winners both took home $1,000 dollars each. Billy Deazzle from Team Speed Attic won the heavy weight division and dominated all three fights. Austin Mallet won the light heavy weight and dominated 2 of the three fights. Word is we will have another fight coming August 16th.. stay tuned.
